Getting started
The Textbook of Maritime Medicine is a comprehensive learning tool aimed at providing health professionals and others with a complete overview of the field of maritime medicine, free of charge. The product is published on the web only and – besides reading - offers a professional network and a discussion forum.

At the launching in November 2009 the product comprises 19 chapters written by experts in the field of maritime medicine. Professional Contributions

Textbook of Maritime Medicine is not only a dynamic learning tool, but also a modern networking site. Here you will meet people all over the world discussing actualities within the field of maritime medicine. By registering you will have access to it all. We expect the textbook to grow as new chapters are added, and the present ones supplemented. This will depend on the initiative of the experts in the field, including you!

A Dynamic Product

The Textbook for Maritime Medicine is a dynamic, web based publication without a fixed and ultimate form and content. By registering you will - besides having free access to the entire product - enable yourself to continuously receive information on updates and news presented by the NCMM. You are also invited to participate in the professional network provided by the website. Knowledge is power and should therefore be shared.

Authors
The initiative to produce the textbook was taken by the Norwegian Centre for Maritime Medicine. Authors were selected from the maritime medicine centres mainly in Europe, but not exclusively. All authors are highly reputed professionals who were asked to cover fields in which they are particularly competent. However, we invite any expert within maritime medicine to contribute to the product by giving comments and/or supplements to the present material. We also welcome users to participate in the discussion forum. Read more
